Meet our Graduates

In life, there are few phrases as powerful and meaningful as, “you’re accepted.” To high school seniors eagerly awaiting college acceptance letters each year, the significance of those two words becomes even more profound.

At Loisann’s Hope House, we are thrilled to be celebrating the achievements of FOUR high school graduates who will soon embark on their college journeys! For some, becoming the first in their family to pursue higher education marks a monumental milestone. Despite facing the challenges of unstable housing, these young adults have demonstrated resilience and determination.

The impact of housing instability and homelessness on educational success cannot be overstated. Yet, despite the odds, these four students received a letter with those two words – you’re accepted.

One student is set to attend her dream school, the HBCU Virginia State University, with aspirations to study psychology. Another plans to pursue biomedical engineering at Germanna Community College, aspiring to specialize in prosthetics. A third student aims to enter the field of criminal justice, also at Germanna. Lastly, a young woman will attend Radford University on a full scholarship, pursuing a degree in Education with dreams of becoming a teacher.

Their stories exemplify the core mission of our agency: to break the cycle of homelessness through permanent solutions. We are immensely proud of our graduates and deeply grateful to our supporters for being part of their journey and instilling hope in their futures.
