Damien’s Story

Damien, his wife, and their newborn baby girl were excited to welcome their child into the world, but their joy was quickly overshadowed by unexpected complications. While Damien’s wife recovered and was released from the hospital, their baby had to be transported to the NICU in DC.

At the time, Damien was working part-time and attending CDL school. Despite his efforts to return to full-time work, his job couldn’t provide enough hours. This led to him falling behind on rent and eventually losing his job, which also meant losing health insurance coverage for their daughter’s medical expenses.

Joining our Prevention Program marked a significant turning point for Damien and his family. With the help of their case manager, they set achievable goals to regain stability. The program provided rental assistance, allowing Damien to focus on finding new employment.

Today, Damien has secured a new job, and their baby girl is home from the hospital. The family is now stable and enjoying making new memories together in their home.
