Loisann's Hope House Referral Process
Families with children experiencing homelessness should apply for shelter through central intake administered through Central Virginia Housing Coalition. Central Virginia Housing Coalition is located at 208 Hudgins Road, Fredericksburg, VA. 22401. Families can walk-in or contact the Diversion Case Manager by phone at 540-604-9943 ext. 220 for housing assistance. The Housing Crisis/Diversion Case Manager will meet with the family and ask questions about the families current living situation and explain the services that may help avoid shelter stay entirely, including family mediation, out of county relocation, anti-eviction legal services, homelessness prevention services and community resources administered through local churches and/or organizations. The goal of central intake is to help families remain housed in the community as often as possible.
If it is determined that the aforementioned services do not apply to a families specific circumstance, the family is referred to appropriate shelter (s) for placement. Once a referral has been received, the family will be contacted for entrance when space is available.
The primary goal of Loisann's Hope House is to move families quickly from shelter into long-term housing.
